In this episode, I am joined by Marius Vold of Oslo's Mortem. Marius was there in the beginning of Norwegian Black Metal. He gave me so much insight to what life was like in Oslo in the early 1990s. We had an inspiring chat about all things black metal. Marius' band Mortem is comprised of black metal heavyweights that include members of Arcturus, Mayhem, Thorns and 1349. Mortem is signed to Peaceville Records and their roster of musicians that round out the lineup is ridiculously loaded with immense talent.

In this episode, I shoot the proverbial shit with none other than the esteemed fine gentlemen in Green Gasoline. This quartet is based out of New Orleans and they bring an essential reminder that heavy rock is not dead. Nor will it ever die. Fans of Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Trapeze, and SABBATH should tune in and ingest what these young purveyors of the mighty riff bring to the table. Green Gasoline, just like their name suggests is a good time on full blast with the brake pedal not even considered an option. I was fortunate to catch one of their live shows at Santos in the Quarter and it was an absolute (dare I say)...gas.

They do not follow the same groundwork that has been cultivated in the New Orleans scene if you will. Highly progressive, very thrash like, and with all the intensity. The two gentlemen walk me through their creative process and we have a tremendous conversation in between. Fans of Cynic, Death's Human LP, and fusion should get excited. (I'm just sayin)
