In this episode of TFTR, I am joined by High Black River out of New Orleans. High Black River consists of bassist, vocalist and founder; Michelle , drummer Ana, and guitarist  Espie. This all female power trio has been working non stop for over 2 years developing their sound. The collective drove all the way down to TFTR headquarters for an in studio chat to discuss the band’s creative process as well as their time in the studio ahead of their debut show at this year’s 15th annual Creepy Fest on Sunday July 21st. In this episode I am joined by Graz, Austria's GUYOD. The band's lead guitar player, Dohrn and their vocalist Ojin were kind enough to meet me over the internet for an insightful conversation. Guyod's musical inspiration is "drawn from uncharted depths...where no light, no color, and no man resides." In this episode of Tales From the Riff, I am joined by my good friend and fellow Norwegian metal festival enthusiast- Mr. Tommy Anthony. Tommy is a founding member of the dark atmospheric group Tribes of Medusa. Tribes of Medusa (ToM) is a project that is inspired by Scandinavian acts of the same genre. There are hints of doom, gothic and black metal. The music is utterly haunting and its hard to nail down. ToM is an experience unlike any other and I am proud to have Tommy on the podcast to tell his story.

EPISODE 67 GRIEVINGS

The fine gentlemen of Lafayette's own Grievings join Moe for another exclusive origin story. The round table discussion was rounded out with band members Ben, D.J., and Ricky. A power trio that leaves everything out on the stage. Ear splitting drums, heavy low end and all the riffs for days. Ricky Lafleur who pulls double duty of lead guitar work and vocals was emphatic that their music often resonates with those of the black metal variety and I find myself in total agreement with the man.
