In this episode of TFTR, I am joined by Christian Bakka Larson of NECROFIER. Christian joined me for a full-on chat about all things Necrofier, his involvement with HELL’S HEROES, and of course; his origin story. Be sure to give Necrofier your undivided attention because they are one USBM band that is a force to be reckoned with. Catch them live in a city near you this summer with co-headliners Goatwhore and supported by Vitriol. The mayhem of shows start on September 5th. BE THERE.

EPISODE 73 GUYOD
Monday Jul 01, 2024
Monday Jul 01, 2024
In this episode I am joined by Graz, Austria's GUYOD. The band's lead guitar player, Dohrn and their vocalist Ojin were kind enough to meet me over the internet for an insightful conversation. Guyod's musical inspiration is "drawn from uncharted depths...where no light, no color, and no man resides." Make no mistake about it, the riffs, the vocals and the atmosphere they create is soul pummeling. Their music is mysterious, blackened, and carries enough depth to lose yourself. I am really excited about Guyod. Their songwriting and music is truly thought provoking as it is intense. Listen to our chat, and familiarize yourself with the immersive Guyod.

Joining me on this episode is Levi Fuselier of the legendary Lafayette death metal band that once was SABBATIC FEAST. Levi joins me from the mountains of Tennessee where he now resides. Sabbatic Feast was a band that delivered Earth shattering vibes to those who were lucky enough to witness their path of destruction. Journey back into the past and hear what Levi is up to now.

EPISODE 71 DISMEMBER
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Ladies and Gentlemen...prepare yourselves. One of the baddest motherfvkers to ever to do it...Richard Cabeza, the founding bassist of DISMEMBER joins me for over an hour. We shoot the proverbial shit, be sure to keep up with the conversation. Hailing out of Stockholm, Dismember is one of the forefathers of Swedish Death Metal. To say that I was excited about speaking with Richard is one of the biggest understatements of all time. Growing up on death metal, Dismember was and is still the reigning champions (in my humble opinion). Huge shoutout to Like An Ever Flowing Stream and Indecent & Obscene.

EPISODE 68 TRIBES OF MEDUSA
Thursday May 16, 2024
Thursday May 16, 2024
In this episode of Tales From the Riff, I am joined by my good friend and fellow Norwegian metal festival enthusiast- Mr. Tommy Anthony. Tommy is a founding member of the dark atmospheric group Tribes of Medusa. Tribes of Medusa (ToM) is a project that is inspired by Scandinavian acts of the same genre. There are hints of doom, gothic and black metal. The music is utterly haunting and its hard to nail down. ToM is an experience unlike any other and I am proud to have Tommy on the podcast to tell his story.

EPISODE 67 GRIEVINGS
Thursday May 02, 2024
Thursday May 02, 2024
The fine gentlemen of Lafayette's own Grievings join Moe for another exclusive origin story. The round table discussion was rounded out with band members Ben, D.J., and Ricky. A power trio that leaves everything out on the stage. Ear splitting drums, heavy low end and all the riffs for days. Ricky Lafleur who pulls double duty of lead guitar work and vocals was emphatic that their music often resonates with those of the black metal variety and I find myself in total agreement with the man. Take the ticket and journey along with us.
